The material is constructed in a plant that heats up, dries and blends aggregate, bitumen and sand into one mixture. It’s known to solidify at low temperatures and be in its liquid state under hot conditions. Many property owners opt for and roadways as the material is less expensive than concrete, easy to lay and holds great flexibility.
While bitumen may also be another name for ‘asphalt’ in some places, it’s a whole different thing. It’s the actual liquid binder that keeps asphalt together. Some roads are sealed with bitumen and then overlaid with an aggregate.

This is then repeated to give a two-coat seal.Asphalt is produced in a plant that heats, dries and mixes aggregate, bitumen and sand into a composite mix.
